Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Therapy/ altitude training

Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Therapy (IHHT)

Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Therapy (IHHT) offers support for many chronic conditions, including:

  • Diabetes Mellitus (both insulin-dependent and insulin-independent diabetes)
  • COPD / Bronchial Asthma
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / Exhaustion, not only as a result of chemotherapy
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Heart Failure
  • Stress and Burnout
  • Overweight
  • Lyme Disease
  • Age-related Macular Degeneration
  • Skin Aging

IHHT involves artificial altitude training, where the patient alternates between breathing oxygen-poor air, as in high altitudes, and normal or oxygen-rich air through a mask. This process triggers various adaptation mechanisms due to the genetically inherent response to oxygen deficiency. The main adaptations include:

  • Renewal of mitochondria
  • Increase in insulin receptors
  • Increase in ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10)
  • Regulation of the autonomic nervous system
  • Enhancement of fat metabolism

These are adaptation processes similar to intense physical training. However, you remain comfortably seated in a chair throughout the treatment, can relax, and even sleep if desired.

A typical treatment cycle consists of 10-14 sessions, each lasting 40-50 minutes.
