Osteopathy

What is osteopathic medicine?

Osteopathic medicine involves comprehensive manual diagnosis and therapy of the musculoskeletal system, internal organs, and the nervous system. The focus of the therapy is not on treating a specific disease itself but always on the individual situation of the patient. Central to the approach are the patient’s self-healing capabilities. Every body has a natural drive towards health. The osteopathic physician stimulates these forces, thereby promoting self-healing.

Effectiveness

There is a wealth of excellent publications in recognized international literature regarding the effectiveness of osteopathic medicine, particularly from American Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.). Many D.O.s work at prestigious university hospitals alongside their medical colleagues.
